Scarborough Rambling Club organises two group rambles most Sundays during the year in the beautiful countryside of Scarborough and district.

Members are offered the choice of a long walk ranging generally between 10-14 miles or a short walk ranging generally between 5-9 miles.  In addition, during the summer months, short walks are arranged for Thursday evenings.  Occasional social events are also held

The long walks leave Hanover Road (opposite the Railway Station) at 9am prompt and the short walks leave Falsgrave Clock (opposite the end of Seamer Road) at 10.30am prompt.

Car owners assist in providing transport for those members who do not own a car.  Donations to car owners towards petrol costs are made in accordance with a scale agreed by members at the AGM.

Members are expected to equip themselves with warm clothes, strong boots and waterproofs.  Packed lunches are advised for both groups of ramblers.

Dogs are not allowed on Club Rambles.

The current annual subscription is £8 per adult and £4 per junior member (12-15years of age).  New members can join up to two walks before their membership subscription must be paid.  A walks book is produced each year detailing the walks for that year.

The club is affiliated to the Ramblers Association and is a member of The Walking Partnership.

Long Walks up to September are on the Walks Programme page

Here is the short walks schedule up to the 15th August  2021

Please note that the advice from HM Government regarding car sharing has now changed.  Car sharing is permitted, but of course should be done with due caution, and remains absolutely the personal choice of drivers and potential passengers whether they are happy to share or not.  We would recommend not crowding vehicles, and to consider travelling with face masks, and with good ventilation (eg. open a window).
